According to recent reports, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced election-related holidays on November 4 and 5, 2026, for establishments connected with preparations for the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections. However, this does not automatically mean every school, college, private company, bank, and government office in Guntur will remain closed.

Here is the latest available information about tomorrow's holiday status, school closures, government offices, and the important dates residents should know.

1. Is Tomorrow a Holiday in Guntur on November 4, 2026?

The answer depends on the institution and whether it is covered by the election-related holiday order.

A report published by The Times of India Education Times on November 3 states that Andhra Pradesh has declared holidays on November 4 and 5 in connection with the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections. The arrangements are intended to support election preparations and polling activities.

According to the report, the order concerns government offices, private buildings, and educational institutions connected with the polling process. 2. Are Schools and Colleges Closed Tomorrow in Guntur?

Students and parents should pay particular attention to school-specific announcements. Educational institutions may have different instructions depending on their location, role in election arrangements, and the orders issued by the relevant authorities.

Schools designated as polling stations or used for election preparations may be affected by the holiday arrangements. However, the latest report does not establish that every government, aided, private, CBSE, and ICSE school throughout Guntur district must close.

Before deciding whether to send children to school, parents should:

1. Check the school's official WhatsApp group or circular.
2. Contact the school office or class teacher.
3. Look for notices from the district education authorities.
4. Confirm whether the school is involved in election-related arrangements.

College students should similarly check notices from their principal, college administration, or university. Examination schedules, practical classes, and other academic activities may follow separate instructions.

3. Andhra Pradesh Election Holiday Dates and Important Information

The MPTC and ZPTC elections are the main reason for the reported November 4 and 5 holiday arrangements. These elections concern rural local government bodies in Andhra Pradesh.

The latest report provides the following schedule:

The exact applicability of these arrangements should be checked against the relevant official notification. Not every establishment is necessarily covered by the same order.

For the wider Andhra Pradesh holiday calendar, the state government's 2026 general and optional holiday notification is also useful. It explains that general holidays do not automatically apply to every educational institution and that separate instructions may be issued for such establishments.

Residents should distinguish between a statewide public holiday, an election-related closure, and a holiday announced only for selected institutions or locations.

4. Conclusion: Should You Expect a Holiday Tomorrow in Guntur?

To conclude, November 4, 2026, may be a holiday for institutions and establishments covered by Andhra Pradesh's election-related arrangements, but a universal holiday for all of Guntur has not been established by the available report.

Students should confirm their school's status, college students should check official notices, and employees should follow instructions from their respective departments or employers. Anyone planning banking, government-office visits, or other essential work should verify opening hours in advance.
